Tompkins County Office for the Aging
Project CARE provides in-home support to residents of Tompkins County who are aged 60 and over by providing a weekly friendly visit, especially to Seniors who are frail, homebound or socially isolated. The program can also provide a break for family caregivers. Volunteers are needed to make weekly friendly visits or to provide assistance with short-term errands to seniors in Tompkins County. Hours are based on volunteer's schedule.

The mission of the Tompkins County Office for the Aging is to assist older adults and persons with long term care needs to live independently in their homes and communities with quality of life and dignity.
Project CARE is a volunteer program serving frail or isolated seniors in their homes. Volunteers provide companionship, respite for caregivers, or help with household chores and errands.
The Long Term Care Ombudsmen Program is a volunteer program to advocate for residents in long term care facilities and promote change in the long term care system. Trained and certified long term care ombudsmen work with residents, families, and staff in long term care facilities in order to resolve residents' specific concerns.
