SKIP is currently seeking volunteers with fluent Spanish to join their primary teaching staff. No prior teaching qualification is necessary, but experience of working with children would be preferable.
Upon arrival, all volunteers receive relevant training according to our structured quality training programme. Each volunteer will work together with one of our permanent teachers, teaching within our unique, internationally-standardised curriculum, recently finalised with the kind participation of our international partners.
For more information on how our curriculum supports the local education system, please see the corresponding page on our website: http://www.skipperu.org/en/how-we-work/education/primaryeducation
We feel that those volunteers who contribute and, indeed, benefit most from this experience will possess the following skills / characteristics:
* A passion for working with children
* Enthusiasm
* Energy
* Patience
* Tenacity
* Maturity
This opportunity offers volunteers the chance to work with an inspirational project which, over the last 7 years, has grown and developed considerably. SKIP has gradually gained the trust of a proud, yet warm and highly aspirational community, building deep and lasting relationships to ensure the sustainability of the project.

Mission Statement
SKIP is a non-profit organization helping disadvantaged children to realize their right to an education. We work to promote quality education for economically-disadvantaged children in El Porvenir and foster the capacity of children and families to be the principal agents of change in their own lives. We work in partnership with families through holistic programs focusing on the educational, economic, emotional and social development of each child and family.
Description
Enrolling and retaining children in the education system is much more than a question of money. To ensure sustainable results, we address factors like family economy, emotional well-being, stability of home environment, nutrition, and academic skillset, all of which impact the chances of a child to enter and stay in school. Our holistic approach focusses on four pillars of family development:
Education
Economic development
Psychology
Social work
