Opening night performances on the Mainstage are followed by receptions for our guests, cast and crew. We are looking for people who would be interested in planning and setting up these receptions. The mission of The Des Moines Playhouse is to produce high quality theatrical presentations utilizing the skills and talents of a group consisting primarily of volunteers for the cultural enrichment of the Central Iowa community, and to provide education in theatre arts for all ages, with an emphasis on young people.
Description
The Des Moines Playhouse is a community theatre, producing 12-14 shows (Broadway musicals, comedies, dramas, family shows) each year. It is the second largest and one of the six oldest continuously operating community theatres in the US. The Playhouse also has one of the largest theatre education programs in the country, with classes for ages 4-adult.
