Short Description:
Transportation team members will be scheduled to assist families with transportation between Family
Promise’s Day center and shelter locations. Family Promise’s 15 passenger van is parked at Family
Promise’s Day Center at First United Methodist Church. Volunteers will begin their shift by collecting the
vehicle from this location and return the vehicle to this location at the end of the shift. It is important to
maintain an attitude of respect and hospitality towards families.
Having a place to be, and being able to get there:
Your time as a transportation volunteer allows families to travel between the shelter and the Day
Center. This ensures that families in Family Promise’s program are always able to reach a safe place to
spend the night or the security of the Day Center, where there are opportunities to pursue next steps,
pursue employment, or apply for housing.
Shifts available:
Transportation is provided 7 days a week to families who need it.
Morning shifts require a pick up time from shelter location at 7am (9am on Saturdays).
Evening Shifts require a pick up time from First United Methodist at 5:00pm.
