Volunteers are a vital part of the hospice caregiving team. Serving with a spirit of respect, Angela Hospice volunteers provide a variety of services to support and enhance the hospice mission of compassionate care for the dying.
Areas of Service
Volunteering at Angela Hospice offers positive opportunities for learning and personal growth, through the following areas of service:
- Hospice Home Care - providing companionship to patients and respite for families in the home.
- Hospice Care Center (Lourdes in Waterford, MI) - providing assistance to our professional staff and companionship for residents of our inpatient unit.
- Grief Care - serving as a peer to peer facilitator supporting grieving members of our community
- Spiritual Care - providing spiritual companionship to patients and families.
- Pediatric Care - supporting families in our "My Nest is Best" pediatric hospice and home care programs.
- Speakers Bureau - speaking about hospice in the community.
- Events & Fundraising - helping at special events that support Angela Hospice programs.
- Administrative Support - data entry, spreadsheets, mail preparation, filing, and other office work.

Description
Angela Hospice provides premium hospice care for terminally ill people of all ages, while offering support to patients' families and loved ones. In addition to operating its home hospice, inpatient hospice, prenatal and pediatric hospice programs, Angela Hospice also provides a variety of free grief support programs which are open to all community members. Angela Hospice was established in 1985 under the leadership of the Felician Sisters of Livonia.
