Craft Kit Assembly

Caitlin's Smiles

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 86 people are interested

Volunteers are needed to assemble craft kits for children in hospitals. Craft kit ideas are on our downloadable link under arts and crafts on our website at www.caitlins-smiles.org. Volunteers donate their own craft supplies and chose whichever craft kits that they would like to donate. Last year over 88,000 kits were donated to children in hospitals.

The kits in most demand are origami kits for older children. These kits must include origami paper and directions sealed in a ziplock bag. No cutting or gluing can be required. All supplies for the hospitalized children to do the kits must be sealed in the bag.

Another kit in demand for younger children are bookmark kits. Foam bookmarks and stickers are sealed in a ziplock bag. Children in hospitals can then make their special bookmark. All supplies needed to create the kit must be sealed in the bag. Samples are on our website at www.caitlin-smiles.org.

Completed kits need shipped to Caitlin's Smiles, 3303 North 6th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Mission Statement

Powered by a passionate group of volunteers, Caitlin’s Smiles encourages children with serious health challenges to explore their uniquely creative talents by taking part in arts and craft activities. While creating feelings of self-worth and instilling confidence in these children, the efforts ultimately put smiles on the faces of everyone involved.

To provide pediatric patients with Creative Art Care Packages which promote activities such as drawing, creative writing and sculpting. Caitlin passed away from a brain tumor when she was 7 years old. Her mom founded this charity in 2004 to give other children in the hospitals hope, laughs and smiles through arts and craft activities. They have reached over 2 million children in 16 years.
