One of the biggest roadblocks to cancer treatment is lack of transportation. That’s why the American Cancer Society Road To Recovery program provides patients with free rides to and from cancer-related medical appointments. And we need your help. Volunteer to become a Road To Recovery driver and help give patients a much needed ride. You might be surprised by the pick me up you get in return.

People who volunteer as drivers must have a current and valid driver’s license, a good driving record, proof of insurance, and a dependable vehicle. Access to a computer and the availability to volunteer on a flexible Monday through Saturday schedule is also needed. Complete training is provided to all new drivers, and volunteers have the ability to serve as often as they are able and their time permits.

Those wishing to learn more about becoming a volunteer driver for the Road to Recovery program can do so by visiting cancer.org/drive or by calling 1-800-227-2345.

Patients who need to secure rides should call 1-800-227-2345 at least three days in advance.
