Love Art? Love Kids? Artspace is looking for responsible volunteers to be Teaching Assistants during our Summer Arts Program and assist our art teachers during this fun summer of art-making!

Artspace Summer Arts Program offers 8 week-long art sessions for ages 5-16 from June 17-August 16, 2019. Children can attend either half-day or full-day week long sessions focusing on a variety of techniques and artistic styles, taught by professional artists.

Teaching Assistant Duties

- Being a reliable aid to the instructor whose class you are assigned

- Assist in signing in and out the students attending classes

- Being a responsible monitor over students before, during, and after classes including breaks and lunchtime.

- Help instructors with organizing and moving art supplies

Artspace offers two class sessions a day. The morning session begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM and the afternoon session begins at 1:00 PM and ends at 4:00 PM. There is a one hour lunch period that begins at 12:00 PM and ends at 1:00 PM.

Volunteer shifts will be approximately four hours and fifteen minutes in length

First Shift - 8:15AM to 12:45PM
Second Shift - 12:00PM to 4:45PM
After Hours - 4:00PM to 5:30PM (1-2 volunteers only)

Each week-long session accounts for approximately 22.5 hours. If you sign up for two sessions (morning and afternoon) in the same week you will have 45 hours. If you choose to work both shifts in a day will have a 30-minute lunch break between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. If you are volunteering for a full day shift you may want to bring lunch and/or a snack.

Come prepared to get messy, wear old clothes!
