New Song Center for Grieving Children

New Song Center for Grieving Children, a program of Hospice of the Valley is a peer family grief support group program for children age 5-17, young adults age 18-25 and adults. Volunteer opportunies include becoming a trained co-facilitator to support grieving families in a group environment; greeting our families on group night and serving pizza, or assisting in the office with clerical duties and special projects as needed. Please go to www.newsongcenter.org for more information and to complete a volunteer application. We do ask our facilitators to make a one year commitment in supporting our families. Please call 480-951-8985 for additional information. We do not provide family or one-on-one professional counseling or therapy. We have support locations in Avondale, Gilbert, Phoenix and Scottsdale Arizona.

Mission Statement

The New Song Center provides comprehensive grief education, support for healing and positive social change following traumatic loss.


The New Song Center for Grieving Children offers confidential on-gong bi-weekly support groups for grieving children ages 5-17, young adults 18-25, adult caregivers and grandparents. Children engage in developmentally appropriate activities including art, play and journaling. Adults attend their own support groups where they learn how to help children process grief in a healthy manner and how to help themselves copy with loss. All groups are co-facilitated by trained and caring volunteers who complete a comprehensive 22-hour week-long experiential training course including skills to facilitate support groups. The support groups are offered in Avondale, Gilbert, Phoenix and Scottsdale including a Luz del Corazon Spanish group.
