MENTORING PROGRAMS
Serve as a role model for personal, academic and professional life choices one hour per week working one-on-one with your student. A mentor serves as a positive adult influence, and a caring and compassionate sounding board. During your weekly meetings, you can help a child raise his/her self-esteem, gain a greater understanding of educational and work opportunities available to them, develop goals and strategies for success and, most of all, know that someone truly cares about him/her.
TUTORING PROGRAMS
Assist students one-on-one during one hour per week sessions in their academic areas of need. There are opportunities to assist students in the basics of Math, Reading, Science or preparation for annual STAAR tests. Many students are typically unable to receive one-on-one assistance at home, and currently there is a wait list for students to receive CISDR volunteer tutors.
* CISDR provides volunteers with grade-level information to assist-- to ensure a successful experience.
*volunteer opportunities are August - June.
**CISDR services 72 campuses in Dallas, Collin and Ellis - mutilple locations.
