We are just beginning to open up limited opportunities for construction volunteers. As we remain in Phase II, due to current building restrictions, we can only have five volunteers on the job site per shift with us. As far as this Winter is looking, we will have opportunities available on both construction sites in Deer Park and West Central Spokane. As affordable housing becomes more and more important during these critical times, we need your help to keep building!

We will be reassessing these guidelines as we continue to monitor guidelines from the CDC.

Habitat for Humanity has construction volunteer opportunities on the Derelict Housing Acquisition and Home Ownership Program in West Central and Northeast Spokane. Habitat will focus on abandoned and blighted homes and will rehab them to be sold to qualified low income families. Contact Claire for more information and to assist with scheduling at 509-534-2552 x 238 or clepoullouin@habitat-spokane.org.

Mission Statement

HfH-Spokane is an ecumenical nonprofit Christian ministry bringing the community together to build decent, affordable homes for all God's people in need.

Description

HfH-Spokane creates a partnership between local families, volunteers and businesses to build affordable decent housing with low income families. Habitat is "a hand up, not a hand out." Each family must fully repay a 30-year, interest free mortgage and contribute 500 hours of "sweat equity" toward Habitat homes and projects.

HfH-Spokane will partner with all community members including other affordable housing providers, ethnic and minority communities and low-income families to raise the standards of housing. HfH-Spokane will provide hope, stability and dignity for families in partnership while building our community through quality homeownership.
