Mission Statement
MISSION: Strengthening Milwaukee's workforce through art internships that help teens develop career skills.
Description
2021 marks ArtWorks' 20th anniversary of providing teens with paid, skill-building internships in the arts. Over 1,400 high school students have completed Artworks ’ internships during this time. Each year, ArtWorks ’ interns work on murals, videos, and other projects which strengthen their confidence and work ethic, and provide outlets for positive creative expression. These projects also contribute to the quality of life in our community with the addition of public art and positive perceptions of the city ’ s youth. ArtWorks is often a student ’ s first job experience and gives them a safe and nurturing space to learn, test, and develop skills that are critical to today ’ s workforce: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, innovation, problem solving, and creativity.
