Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CASH) Buffalo is seeking volunteers for its free tax preparation network. Over the last five years, the local volunteer network has completed more than 43,000 state and federal returns and brought more than $50 million dollars into the community via tax refunds and credits. With your help, we can increase these numbers and reach even more hard working, low-to-moderate income persons.

Under the supervision of tax professionals, you will prepare federal and state income tax returns for the current year. If you wish to volunteer, but do not want to prepare tax returns, you can serve as a greeter, translator, a tax expert (for people with previous experience), or in a new role as a CASH advisor. CASH advisors help families determine eligibility for service and provide information on financial education and asset building opportunities.

Please respond to this opportunity to learn more. Taxes will be completed at various locations, not at the United Way Building. Trainings take place in person online or in person through December. Tax volunteers are needed 2-4 hours a week February - April.
