ORGANIZATION: Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis

Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis is currently looking for members for its Governing Board. The Governing Board is critical to the effectiveness of the program and requires the following commitments:

Ø Oversight of Boys Hope Girls Hope operational activities, including: 1. Establishment and implementation of policies 2. Annual evaluation of the Executive Director 3. Development and implementation of a Strategic Plan 4. Act as fiduciary in approving and monitoring the operating budget and ensuring that all fiscal/control policies are adhered to. 5. Assure compliance with National Boys Hope Girls Hope standards and guidelines.

Ø Contribute individually by making a personally significant donation.

Ø Generate $10,000 annually in cash or in-kind donations ("Give or Get" goal).

Ø Assist the Executive Director by opening doors to corporate, foundation and individual donor prospects through letters, telephone calls or face-to-face meetings with intent being to solicit funds.

Ø Participate in and support Boys Hope Girls Hope events and activities.

Ø Serve on at least one standing Board committee.

Ø Serve a minimum of one three-year term (maximum of 3 consecutive terms).

Ø Attend at least 80% of Board meetings and committee meetings.

Ø Attend the Board Retreat.

Description

BHGH is a privately funded, non-profit organization. BHGH provides children with long-term, value centered homes coupled with a private preparatory education. Financial assistance is provided through college for all program graduates.
