Volunteers support MOCSA's programs in a variety of capacities, from answering the agency phone, preparing mailings, developing newsletters and public relations materials, maintaining databases and more. Volunteers may also review, organize, and manage the books, journals and videos about sexual abuse in MOCSA's Resource Library. Time commitment is flexible depending on volunteer availability.

MOCSA exists to lessen the ill effects of sexual assault and abuse through prevention, education, intervention, treatment and advocacy.
Description
Since 1975 the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) has been assisting victims of sexual abuse and assault throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. MOCSA offers a 24-Hour Crisis Line (816-531-0233 in Missouri and 913-642-0233 in Kansas); hospital, police and court advocacy; crisis intervention counseling for victims of sexual assault/rape; support groups for victims of sexual assault/rape; therapy for victims of child sexual abuse; support groups for adult survivors of child sexual abuse; an agency resource library; community education programs for youth and adults; professional education programs and a volunteer program.
