Community educators for the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) facilitate presentations on sexual assault and/or child sexual abuse to community organizations, area businesses, law enforcement agencies, and colleges. Volunteers may also staff information booths, distribute printed materials, answer questions about MOCSA and its services at health fairs, public displays and education fairs throughout the city. Time commitment is dependent upon number of community education requests and speaker availability.

MOCSA exists to lessen the ill effects of sexual assault and abuse through prevention, education, intervention, treatment and advocacy.
Description
Since 1975 the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) has been assisting victims of sexual abuse and assault throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. MOCSA offers a 24-Hour Crisis Line (816-531-0233 in Missouri and 913-642-0233 in Kansas); hospital, police and court advocacy; crisis intervention counseling for victims of sexual assault/rape; support groups for victims of sexual assault/rape; therapy for victims of child sexual abuse; support groups for adult survivors of child sexual abuse; an agency resource library; community education programs for youth and adults; professional education programs and a volunteer program.
