It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

49 Fulton StreetNew York, NY 10038

Every other Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. fresh art has a sewing group that hand sews sock monkeys. The monkeys are sold via fresh art's website as well as select craft fairs to benefit the organizations fine arts programming for New York City artists with special needs.

Knowledge of hand sewing is necessary. We provide all of the sewing materials. It takes about four-six hours to sew a sock monkey so we ask that you would come to at least two to three sessions in order to finish a monkey. If you wish to continue with the group, that would be great. We have volunteers who have been with us since 2001.

Please look at the website for fresh art's history of what we do:

Volunteers also help with staffing at the two-three craft fairs fresh art participates in per year for selling the sock monkeys and at the organizations yearly benefit.
