The Soceity of St. Vincent de Paul needs a person who would be willing to chair an advocacy committee regarding issues related to the poor. Issues such as access to afforadable health care, living wage, Cash advance/payday loan stores. The committee is responsible for communicating The Society's position with its members and encouraging grass roots political involvement.

For more than 130 years, St. Vincent de Paul -Detroit has been privileged to provide critical support to residents of Southeastern Michigan who are hurting. Through our hands-on charitable work, we’ve been a vital part of the community, offering food assistance, emergency support and disaster relief services to help enhance the lives of the less fortunate. The Society works in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Detroit, networking with 2,000 Vincentian volunteers in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, St. Clair and Monroe counties, and assisting over 300,000 individuals & households annually.
