The AseraCare Hospice Pet Therapy program is one of many alternative treatment programs used to help in the care of patients with terminal illnesses. Many of our patients had to give up their pets, and they miss the casual acceptance a pet gives them. the companionship that our volunteer pets provide can help to fill their lonely days and ease any feelings of isolation. Pet Therapy can bring a sense of peace and trust to our patients, and help to relieve stress. Pets often open the door to communication, making it easier for the patient to open up and talk with someone who is new to them. The benefits of Pet Therapy continue long after the visit.

AseraCare is a hospice agency that provides care to patient in the end stages of life. We serve patients in their own homes, nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
We focus on serving the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of our team, patients and families with a sense of compassion, urgency and customer service. AseraCare is passionate about creating a culture that is dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering which finds expression through the ongoing gentle acts of kindness, sympathy and compassion. Volunteers at AseraCare will be a friend in someones end of life journey to ensure they are comfortable.
