Friendly visitors provide direct support to the patients and their loved ones by visiting them at home, at the Abramson Center or in other long term care facilities. Volunteers give support and companionship, sit with a patient so a family member can take a break, run errands, procided limited transportation, read, write letters, play cards or share experiences. They offer kindness they might show to a cherished friend or long-time neighbor who has become seriously ill.

Description
The Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life is a comprehensive facility for geriatrics, featuring the Abramson Residence for nursing care, The Inn for assisted living, The Polisher Research Institute, the Weiss Senior Day Program, the Abramson Center Hopsice and the Counseling for Caregivers Program. The Center offers many exciting and fulfilling volunteer opportunities that provide interaction with residents, ways to apply skills, assist with activities, and share energy.
