Thrive DC

The Re-entry Food Distribution volunteer helps our Re-entry Outreach Coordinator load pantry boxes for distribution to organizations in our local Community.

Volunteers are also needed every 3rd Friday of the month to help give food boxes and produce items to individuals reentering society from incarceration.

Thrive DC works to prevent and end homelessness by providing vulnerable individuals with a comprehensive range of services to help stabilize their lives. Thrive DC envisions a city in which the community unites to ensure that vulnerable individuals have the necessary support and resources to lead fulfilling and stable lives free of homelessness.

Description

Thrive DC is an independent 5013 nonprofit organization, who has been serving the DC community since 1979. Thrive DC offers breakfast and dinner to more than 250 homeless and poor men, women, and children each day. Thrive DC also gives immediate crisis assistance, acts as an outreach site for partner agencies, and provides information, referral, and emergency social services. Thrive DC also provides intensive employment training designed to help individuals transition out of homelessness and develop the skills needed to live independently.
