Compeer of Lebanon County

Being a Compeer volunteer is as easy as being a friend

Have you ever received a phone call from a friend that just made your spirits lift or a dark day a little brighter? That’s the gift you can give to one of our clients.

Compeer Calling is a great opportunity for a caring volunteer to make a difference in someone's life from the comfort of your home.

Volunteers make a 15 minute phone call each week to someone who is isolated, lonely, and suffering from depression.

The gift of your friendship is only a phone call away.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people recovering from mental illness through the power and gift of friendship. We train caring, sensitive volunteers to be in 1-on-1 friendship connections.

Description

Compeer believes that friendship is powerful medicine. Many individuals recovering from mental illness find it difficult to make new friends or maintain a healthy social life. But the support of a friend can make all the difference to a person struggling with anxiety, depression, or isolation.

Compeer connects volunteers with individuals who need a friend. Volunteers meet with their match one hour each week, doing activities that both friends enjoy.
