We are assembling a team to improve lives! Help us screen 9Health Fair participants for rheumatoid arthritis. Early detection greatly improves the course of this debilitating disease and we have the opportunity to reach those at risk in our community with a simple screening that can be done on site at each of the 9Health Fairs. Be a part of the team to assist staff from the University of Colorado Hospital as they conduct these screenings.
The fall 2016 screenings are designed to identify individuals that are at risk for developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Researchers are using this information to begin a clinical trial to prevent RA in people who are at high risk. This trial is called 'Strategy for the Prevention of Onset of Clinically-Apparent RA’, or StopRA. Finding such individuals could lead to an earlier start on treatment, help to prevent long-term damage from arthritis, and contribute to research to prevent RA. This evaluation is conducted jointly by the 9Health Fair, the Arthritis Foundation and the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
