Youth Spirit Artworks

YSA seeks to recruit three new skilled members to our Board of Directors. We are specifically interested in new Board members with skills and background in Business and Finance, as well as Homeless-youth related Social Work. We would be grateful to have a Board member with a background in Affordable Housing Law or Real Estate Law.

Our Board is extremely diverse. We seek representation from individuals from groups that have traditionally faced discrimination and prejudice, including LGBTQI+ Board members. We are also interested in representation from folks involved in the religious community since we are an interfaith organization.

Our Board meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:15 pm. We encourage virtual participation when meeting in person isn't practical or convenient. Board terms are three years and are renewable for a second term.

We have a 100 percent giving Board and Board members serve on Committees, volunteering approximately 5 hours per month in various ways as part of their Board service.

Mission Statement

Youth Spirit Artworks is a 13 year old interfaith, youth-driven jobs training program serving young people, ages 16 to 25. Our mission is to use arts-anchored jobs training as a vehicle to empower and transform the lives of homeless and other under served Bay Area youth, giving young people the skills, experience, and the self-confidence they need to meet their personal and professional goals.

Youth Spirit carries out its mission through four program areas: Youth Wellness, Community Organizing, Art Sales and Entrepreneurship, and Community Art.
