Compassionate Care, One Day at a Time

About

Do you play a musical instrument? Are you interested in using your talent for a greater cause?

Hospice Care of the Northwest is looking for volunteers who are musicians, music therapists, or music thanatologists in the Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas areas to provide bedside music for persons using hospice services.

*Trainings scheduled in September! Just in time for the holidays. Contact Tammy to set up an appointment to meet.

Music is one of the most enriching experiences we can have. Often, patients who are not able to communicate and interact with others still enjoy music and are able to connect with it. Some are bedbound and their room is their world. As a volunteer, you provide comfort, needed companionship and the oportunity to experience live music to people who are making choices on how to live their remaining days of life. This is an opportunity for volunteers to learn more about themselves and what really matters.

Share your gift of music, enhancing the quality of life of a patient immensely. Instruments may include:

  • guitar
  • violin
  • flute
  • harp
  • autoharp
  • mandolin

If you have an additional instrument that you would feel is appropriate, let us know!
