Santa Claus, Inc. has thousands of volunteers throughout Southern California. Volunteers are needed for the following: Knitters and crocheters to make baby blankets, blankets for older children, children's sweaters, children's slippers, caps, and toys, seamstresses to sew chidren's clothing and doll clothes, Quilters who can make quilts and who can do machine quilting, wood-workers, buyers for the clothing, toy, and book departments, volunteers to work at Santa's Workshop in San Bernardino doing clerical work, maintenance work, packaging, working with dolls, gardening, potential Board members to help run the organization, computer volunteers, volunteers to help with distribution at Christmastime to the families, and volunteers to help plan and implement the fundraising event, Christmas Tree Lane. Kids can volunteer under adult supervision (girl scouts, boy scouts, school groups, etc.). There are many jobs for pre-teens and teens up to and including those who are in their 70's, 80's and even 90's. Groups include Kiwanis, Rotary, Sororities, Fraternities, Retired Teachers, active Teachers and Administrators, Law enforcement agencies, the Bar Association, Hospital Guilds, Hospital staffs, Knitting and Quilting groups, families, local Minor league baseball teams, National Charity League, current and retired military groups, social service organizations, local Indian tribes, large corporations, small businesses, churches, and many other groups in the community.
