Mission Statement
The mission of Dress for Success Dallas is to advance the social and economic development of low-income women and to encourage them to self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention.
Description
We fulfill our mission through two programs, the Suiting Program and the Professional Women's Group (PWG). In our Suiting Program, a woman is referred to us from another agency that does job readiness training and preparation. They come to us to be suited for a job interview they have scheduled in the near future. Once they get the job, they return to us for a week of business separates. If they retain their job for 30 days, they are offered membership into our Professional Women's Group our career retention and life enrichment program. There are 3 aspects to the PWG, 1) Client Networking, 2)Speaker Series and 3)Mentoring. Our monthly meetings encompass a session where clients can network with one another, hear success stories and share their experiences in an effort to help one another. In addition, women from the business community will come to speak to our clients on topics that will help their personal and professional development. Topics will range from time management and handling conflict on the job to filing your taxes. Finally, each PWG member will be mentored by one of our volunteers who will encourage them to stay employed and assist them in maintaining the skills they are developing.
