The Etowah Historical Museum and the Cherokee Historical Museum are in need of volunteers to be receptionists, general helpers, organizers and display arrangers. Much help is needed at both locations with changing displays, organizing books and records, and sorting items. Help is also needed for more clerical jobs such as newsletter mailings, typing, editing and scanning items into the computer.
If you are a history buff, or simply curious about the history of Etowah or Cherokee County, this would be a perfect opportunity for you to learn more about our history, while helping the Museums at the same time!

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a federal program charged with leading efforts to expand the use of service and volunteering as key solutions that respond to our nation's most pressing challenges. Our mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagement, through service and volunteering. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
