The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
The food pantry recevied food from food drives and United Food Bank. TCAA gives canned goods, meat, produce, and dairy items to families each day.
TCAA's Food Pantry is the largest food pantry in the city of Tempe. A collaborative effort amongst our agency, local grocery stores, and volunteers, the Food Pantry serves any individual in need by providing them with much needed food assistance.
As a volunteer you will assemble food bags, stock shelves, sort food donations, and distribute food bags to walk-in residents. You must be able to lift at least 20 pounds.
Opportunities are available Monday-Friday from 9am-12:15pm as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6:30pm. Due to an increase in donations, our highest need is volunteers on Monday and Wednesday from 6am-12:15pm and Friday mornings from 8am-12:15pm.
