Phone Friend Volunteer Opportunities:
Phone Friend volunteers are an important part of the success of Phone Friend. Volunteers answer calls from one of nine phone lines from children. Calls from children may entail helping with their homework, playing hangman, 20 questions, brain quest, trivia games, reading stories, just to talk, etc. Phone Friend hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 1:00 PM-6:30 PM located in Tempe. Phone Friend provides a free orientation and an eight-ten hour training for all volunteers. After the completion of the training, Phone Friend requires that volunteers dedicate a minimum of twenty five hours to the program.

Advantages of Volunteering at Phone Friend

* Flexibility--schedule your own days and time * Boost your resume * Serve as a role model * Make a difference in the lives of children with every phone call that you answer * Go home everyday feeling like you have accomplished something with positive, long term effects

Regular Volunteer Requirements: See Below

Court Ordered Volunteers

Mission Statement

We Shape Communities, Who Shape the Children, Who Shape Our Future!

Description

The Association for Supportive Child Care, ASCC, has been shaping Arizona’s future since 1976. The many programs we offer at the Association for Supportive Child Care support anyone and everyone that cares for children in Arizona - parents, early childhood professionals, preschool teachers, family members, neighbors, family child care providers, and so many others. By providing training, support, technical assistance, and resources, we shape communities all over the state. All of our programs build upon a future where every child has hope, lives safely, is supported, and happy.
