Kitty Committee

Do you love cats and want to help them find their fur-ever homes? We need your help! You will check on adoption cats at our participating PETCO stores: River Oaks & Aldine.
Straighten cages, change litter, replace dirty bedding, check food and water, give some love and attention, and receive lots of kisses from them! Volunteer signs up for dates on an online calendar.

Visits can be scheduled anytime the store is open! Store hours are Mon-Sat 9am to 9pm and Sun 10am to 7pm. Actual activity takes about 1-2 hours per visit. Most volunteers stay no more than 2 hours. Volunteer must commit to visit at least 2 days each month.

About Harris County Pets

Location:

612 Canino Rd., Houston, TX 77076, US

Mission Statement

Harris County Veterinary Public Health works in close partnership with the community to create a safe and healthy environment for people and animals.

Description

We accomplish our mission through bite case investigations, disease surveillance, animal law enforcement, stray animal control, education, rabies vaccination, policy development and registration of dogs and cats within unincorporated Harris County.

VPH is committed to providing humane, compassionate, quality care to animals in our facility. We attempt to return lost pets to their owners and strive to place as many of our unclaimed shelter animals as possible into new "forever homes" through our adoption program, the help of our rescue partners and transfers to other animal sheltering agencies.

For those animals that need a little extra "TLC" or veterinary care before they are suitable for adoption, we have a robust animal fostering team made up of dedicated staff and volunteers.
