Vigil Volunteers are urgently needed for our actively dying patients with Compassus Hospice Volunteer Vigil Team. Volunteers will be trained by clinical staff to sit with actively dying patients to provide comfort and support at very end of life. Adults needed who can spend the night or a part of the night with patients. Volunteers will be point of contact with patient and hospice nurse, chaplain, social worker, and CNA and patient's family. This is for compassionate and mature volunteers over 18 years old.

Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care provides end of life care to terminally ill patients and their families through an integrated team of physicians, nurses, social workers, spiritual advisors and trained volunteers. Volunteers are ordinary people with extraordinary love and concern for others, contributing their time, talent and energy at an extraordinary time of life. Volunteer duties may include the following: provide companionship, listen, read, run an errand or cook a meal. Volunteers are assigned to one family.
Description
We invite volunteers to join the Compassus Hospice team if they have two hours per week and are deeply compassionate. Volunteers are fundamental to the hospice concept and a vital part of the hospice team.
