Boulevard Logo
The Boulevard:The Road to Health and Home, was founded in 1994 and was originally called Interfaith House. Since then, it has provided a temporary home to over 8,000 Chicago women and men as they have regained their health and overcome homelessness.

Are you interested in providing your professional expertise to reduce homelessness in Chicago?

Founded in 1994, The Boulevard of Chicago is a medical respite program designed specifically to address the challenges faced by homeless adults discharged from hospitalization with no place to go to recuperate. It aids individuals in completing their medical recovery or stabilization, begin to address the root causes of their homelessness, and find stable housing. The Boulevard includes an on-site clinic open 40 hours a week and staffed by medical and behavioral health professionals.

With a capacity of 64 beds (15 women, 49 men), and a usual length of stay of 90 to 120 days, The Boulevard core Assessment Respite Program was able to assist 334 individuals in rebuilding their lives in its most recent fiscal year (FY18). Through its Health and Housing Outreach Team, continuing support services were provided to 108 at-risk individuals placed in independent housing.

We are particularly seeking Board candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

* Strategic Planning

* Finance,

* Marketing/Public Relations

Board meetings are held every other month, generally in the Loop. For consideration, please send your resume, and you will be contacted by our Board Membership Committee.
