Adults 55 plus picture yourself as an advocate of the St. Johns River and its tributaries and its wetland through citizen-based advocacy for clean and healthy waters. Support the belief that the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the river system must be preserved and remain accessible for the enjoyment and benefit of current and future generations.

Enjoy the fun throughout the year with staffing information booths, monitoring the St. Johns River, going on boat patrols, and helping with various fund raising functions.

Mission Statement

Develop a variety of volunteer opportunities for community services for people, aged 55 and better, willing to share their experience, abilities, and skills for the betterment of their community and themselves.

Description

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is funded in part by a federal program entitled The Corporation for National and Community Service and the City of Jacksonville.

The dual purpose is to engage seniors 55 and better in volunteer service that meets critical community neeeds; and to provide a high quality volunteer experience that will enrich their lives.
