Project Summary: To reach the 34 cities and counties in Central Virginia, Feedmore depends on the generosity of its volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels. Our volunteer drivers help deliver these filling meals to those homebound individuals and children that are in great need. This is all made possible, through the utilization of the volunteers’ own personal vehicles and the network of nearly 300 serving agencies throughout Central Virginia.

Major Tasks:
Go on site at the designated Meals on Wheels location to get assigned your specified route. Then with the help from the local MOW coordinator pick-up and load the meal boxes into your personal vehicle. With the meals now secured in a vehicle, you are now able to drive off on your route and deliver the meal boxes to the multiple clients.

  • Load, transport, and deliver food and other products to clients in a safe manner
  • Ensure accuracy of delivery items
  • Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Follow policies and procedures as defined by Feed More
*As of November 15, 2021, Feed More will expect all employees and volunteers to establish that they have been fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test each week prior to their volunteer shift. The process will be explained in more detail once your volunteer application is approved. For purposes of this policy, volunteers are considered vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna), or one dose of a single-dose vaccination (Janssen/J&J). A negative test must be done through your doctor’s office or testing facility to confirm the date that the test was preformed (new tests needed weekly).
