Mission Statement

Explora: creating opportunities for inspirational discovery and the joy of lifelong learning through interactive experiences in science, technology and art.

Description

More than 500,000 people have attended Explora and its programs since Explora opened its facility on Mountain Road in December 2003. Visitors have come from all parts of New Mexico, as well as from 45 other states and many foreign countries. Explora already has a reputation as one of the most innovative and successful science centers in the country.

Explora features 250 interactive exhibits in science, technology and art, organized under such themes as water, light and color, electricity, and creative art. Exhibits are carefully designed to encourage thoughtful interactions by visitors of all ages. Explora educators help visitors engage with exhibits in their own personal ways.
