Volunteers make phone calls to older or disabled adults.
Volunteers provide a medication reminder (daily), a security check-in (daily) or a social call for companionship (a few times a week). Typically, a client needs a call at the same time each day, either in the morning or evening. Most calls are brief and can even be completed from the volunteer's place of work in the morning.
For many older adults, this is the only person they will talk to all day. It also offers a daily safety check, with follow up made by staff if we can't reach the person.
