Looking to volunteer in a different capacity??
Why not be part of our homebuyer training program ...

the Purpose of the cornerstone class is to provide basic construction knowledge to Habitat homebuyers and required family members (co-applicant & dependents over 18 yrs. of age). This training is part of their homebuyer’s willingness to partner and is required before they can begin the onsite sweat equity component of the program. Sweat equity hours are earned based on the length of the training.

the Goal is for everyone to feel comfortable and confident on the construction site and learn new skills that will help them maintain their homes.

your Role as the cornerstone facilitator is to provide classroom education and hands-on training. This includes, but is not limited to, basic skills with tools, tape measures, and safety practices on the site. We then progress through the steps of building a small project.

resources and materials will be provided by habitat for humanity of new castle county

About Habitat for Humanity NCC

Location:

1920 Hutton St, Wilmington, DE 19802, US

Mission Statement

To build affordable housing at no-profit through a combination of volunteer labor, 'sweat-equity' and no-interest mortgages. We act in partnership with the community as a diverse group, including individuals, partner families, faith groups, civic organizations, local schools and businesses. We reach out from Christian roots across denominational, faith, economic and racial lines to bring together people who are concerned for their neighbors. We strive to develop and empower individuals and communities through the construction of simple, decent homes.

Description

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with families in need. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience the joy of helping a family to realize their dream of homeownership.

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County offers both volunteer construction opportunities as well as non-construction opportunities: such as providing lunches for construction volunteers, working in the ReStore, or serving on a committee.
