Plant, weed and generally help manage outdoor areas of residential facilities for established human services agency which provides support to individuals living with mental illness, people with intellectual disabilities and families struggling with homelessness. Major mowing and large scale projects are done in-house; the volunteer should have the ability to handle varying levels of yard work (initially more strenuous, reduced to moderate and light as beds are managed appropriately.)
This is a perfect service project for students, small business groups or faith-based organizations looking to serve in the local community.
Project requires volunteers to provide own transportation to and from the properties. Must be able to work cooperatively with the Community Engagement department staff and work independently in the creation and installation phases. This opportunity provides great flexibility - design a schedule to suit your needs.
