We need volunteers who are willing to work with cats of all ages and demeanors. Our first goal is to make our "residents' home" as clean and as fresh as possible. We therefore scoop litter boxes, clean furniture, and wash bedding and food bowls daily. We have regular volunteers who come in once a week on their day for two to four hours to clean. We also have special volunteers who help out as needed, to fill in when others are unable to come, or to work on certain projects such as making cat furniture or bedding. In addition, we need people to assist with our fund raising events and communication projects such as invitations and newsletters. We are also in the process of opening a gift shop and will need volunteers to staff that as well. And, of course, we need volunteers to love, brush and play with our kitties. We just need to know what you are willing to do to best accomodate your time and efforts. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed, but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

About Clowder House Foundation

Location:

3134 Wyoming, St. Louis, MO 63118, US

Mission Statement

Clowder House Foundation is committed to providing quality life-time care to felines of all ages and medical conditions in a cageless setting as possible. We endeavor to offer "peace of mind" to those owners who can no longer care for their beloved cats, provide opportunities for visitation when feasible, and work with those in stressful situations. We further strive to rescue abandoned cats and encourage humane animal welfare.

Description

Clowder House Foundation is a retirement home for cats of all ages and medical conditions. Our primary focus is to provide life-time care for cats when their former owners are no longer able to do so for whatever reasons. We are a no-kill, minimum-cage facility, and we make very effort to accommodate each cat's special needs and personality. We also offer opportunities for visitations with former owners whenever possible. We do charge a one-time placement fee for life-time care, but the fee is designed to cover basic needs in order to keep the fee as low as possible. When space and funds allow, we also provide homes for abused, neglected and unadoptable cats. Rescued cats that can be socialized are available for adoption into loving homes.
