Be a Literacy Volunteer
Share the Gift of Reading, Writing, and Speaking English
Literacy Volunteers of America, Essex & Passaic Counties (LVA), is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping adults improve their ability to speak, read, and write English. As an LVA volunteer, you can help people achieve a more rewarding life through weekly tutoring in reading, writing, and speaking English.
We have a long list of students waiting for help. Our students are comprised both of English speakers who need help becoming proficient at reading and writing, and speakers of other languages who need help learning English.
The first step to becoming an LVA tutor is to register for one of Tutor-Training Workshops. Please visit our website at www.lvaep.org or call 973-566-6200, ext 225, or text 973-441-3200 for more details.
