The Underground Railroad History Project seeks energenic volunteers with a real commitment to preserving community culture and history. This person presently will work from either the historic site at 194 Livingson Avenue in Albany or the Sage College office in Gurley Hall at Russell Sage College. Enthusiasm for the mission is necessary. We have extensive gardens that we use to tell the story of the Underground Railroad and relate it to today's contemporary social situation. We also have been busy using the restored historic site to tell the story. We also host an annual conference at local area colleges and mini-conferences on critical issues related to this history.
This is a volunteer position but as funds are raised could become a paying position.
