Bon Secours Hospice is seeking crafters to use their crocheting talent to donate time to make lap blankets, prayer shawls, and bereavement prayer squares. The lap blankets and prayer shawls will be presented to each patient on admission to our hospice services and will remain with the family as a special memento of their loved one. Bereavement prayers squares to the family to keep in their pocket or purse as a way to connect with their spirituality while they journey through grief.
We also accept donations of yard, and supplies, but will provide these items if you provide the talent and time.
Every extra touch we provide to patients and their families shows that we honor their lives, we stand with them as a community, and we show love as Christ showed to us.

Description
Bon Secours Hospice provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms. The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible, in familiar surroundings. Hospice care is centered on both the patient and family/caregiver. Hospice personnel respect and respond to the unique differences in family/caregiver, lifestyle, values, and wishes.
Utilizing an interdisciplinary group approach of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, homemakers, hospice aides, volunteers, spiritual counselors, bereavement counselors, and others, Bon Secours Hospice provides palliative care in the home, short-term inpatient services, mobilization and coordination of ancillary services, and bereavement support. Services will be equitably distributed to a medically and financially diversified group of patients in a cost-effective manner which ensures adherence to the goals of Bon Secours Hospice and the maintenance of the financial solvency of the organization.
