As an 11th Hour Volunteer, you have the privilege of keeping vigil with patients at their bedsides at the very end of their lives.

The term vigil comes from the 12th century Old French term vigil, meaning "to watch or guard". Embracing the implication that you are keeping vigil.

Your experience with patients and their families as they are dying is incredibly rewarding. What an honor it is to be a presence when they are most visible.

Hospice teaches us about what truly matters and how to live bravely and transparently.

We are currently looking for volunteers in the following counties: Logan, Shelby, Darke, Preble, Montgomery, Greene, Clark, Champaign and Miami

Hospice programs are designed to offer support, care and comfort to terminally ill patients in the final stages of life as well as their families. Provided either in-home or within an assisted living or skilled nursing center, our Hospice Care program includes palliative care by hospice professionals, counseling for patient and family as well as pastoral support. In addition, registered nurses, therapists, dietitians and social workers are available to meet all the patients' health care needs.

Hospice Care is a promise... a promise to patients who are facing the most difficult time of life, when choices seem few, and the patient and family situation is most fragile.
