A group of volunteers studying tracks.

If you've been thinking about becoming involved with a local conservation organization, but haven't been sure where to start, then please join us at the San Diego Tracking Team's Wildlife Survey Volunteer Training Saturday, July 15, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

This orientation will prepare you to participate in surveys that monitor wildlife in major open space preserves. You will learn about conservation, habitat fragmentation, basic track and scat identification, data collection protocols, and survey transects. Upon completing the class, you will be able to join experienced trackers on some of SDTT's quarterly wildlife surveys throughout San Diego County.

For the class, bring a snack, water, and be prepared to spend the morning outdoors and dress appropriately (long pants, sturdy shoes, sun protection.)

Pre-registration is required at sdttinfo@gmail.com or call 760-715-4102 and leave your name and email address.

This training will be offered again on October 14.
