Imagine spending time hearing about WWII from a man who fought overseas, or hearing stories from a woman who lived through the depression. What would it be like to have a family caregiver call you an "angel" for spending time with their senior loved one so that they can have three hours to themselves? Can you think of a better way to spend your time than by helping someone else?

Our volunteers spend anywhere from three hours a week to filling in once a while visiting with a senior while the caregiver takes a break. The visits are social visits only, there is no hands-on care required. We have families all over DuPage County who are waiting for a volunteer, can you find the time to help others?

Types of VolunteerOpportunities

-Weekly, one volunteer for three hours every week

-Bi-weekly, one voluteer for three hours every other week

-Weekly, Team, two volunteers provide six hours a week for a family in special need of respite

-Flexible, one volunteer provides respite for special events, not on a regular basis

-Weekly,Groups groups of three to five provide a minimum of 9 hours of respite a week for a family in dire need of respite

-Administrative Volunteer, Assist Volunteer Coordinator with administration of the program; including marketing, newsletters and record keeping, hours are flexible
