The Lace Museum is a small specialty museum, in Sunnyvale, devoted to preserving lace and the art of lace making. Visitors are guided through the museum by volunteer tour guides. The museum is looking for new guides who want to learn about the museum. Training provided. The museum is open Tues through Sat from 11 - 4. The ideal candidate would be able to volunteer one day a week from 11 - 4. We would also welcome tour guides who could work one or two days per month. Training provided. The entire museum staff is volunteer and other volunteer opportunities exist during museum open hours. If you are doing this for class or school/college credit, please let us know in your first email or phone conversation with us.

To preserve the art of lace making, to exhibit lace and its historical use and to offer instruction in all facets of lace making.
Description
The Lace Museum is a small, all-volunteer museum located in Fremont, California. It has permanent and rotating exhibits of lace and lace making tools. Tours are offered for individuals and small groups. The collections are comprised of over 10,000 pieces of lace, lace making tools, ephemera, a library and an archive. Workshops are given both in person and virtually for beginning to experienced lace makers with teachers from around the globe. The museum supports itself through teaching, lecturing, online sales and offsite sales events.
