The Humane Society of Lincoln County is looking for dependable volunteers to assist with weekend cat and kitten pet adoptions at the NorthLake PetSmart. The HSLC will provide all the necessary training which is basically takes 1 hour or less, and is uncomplicated and simple. Please note: You must be at least 18 yrs old to volunteer, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We are also in great need of volunteers to assist during the week in the pet adoption center. This involves cleaning the 9 cages that house our rescued felines and assuring all have plenty of clean food and water for the day. There are 2 shifts available for either the morning or evening duties. Times are flexible with the AM shift available any time between 7 and 11 am and the evening shift anytime between 6 and 9pm. The HSLC provides all the supplies and will train as needed. Time involved per shift is approx 2 hrs or less. Please note: You must be at least 18 yrs old to volunteer, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Currently there are six AM and six PM cleaning opportunities available each week that take 1 to 2 hours each.
Currenly there are 3 Adoption Volunteer opportunities available each week that take 3 hours each, but shifts can be divided if so desired.

This volunteer opportunity can be accomplished by 1 person, but it can be alot of fun if you bring a friend or your family.
It's a great way to give homeless animals another chance at a long and happy life.
We are an all volunteer 501C 3 organizaition with no paid employees. When you volunteer with us, you are not working for PetSmart. You are just simply volunteering because you care enought to want to make a difference.

Rescue and find homes for abandoned/stray animals and animals scheduled for euthanisa at the local shelters, provide monetary help to aid low income citizens in the care of their personal pets, provide low cost spay and neuter sevices to the public and strive to educate the public in proper animal care so to some day prevent unwanted animals and animal abuse and cruelty.
Description
The Humane Society of Lincoln County is an all volunteer 501(c) 3 organization. We are very small at this time with only 25 very dedicate members. We have been in operation over 20 years. Our main goal is to reduce the number of unwanted animals born each month and to eliminate euthanisa at the local animal shelters thru the spay and neuter process. However, for the animals that are already here, we dedicate our spare time and homes to the rescue of and placement of these animals in loving homes through our pet adoption process. For citizens that want to keep their animals but feel they can't due to medical and food care expense, we offer a Public Assistance program to attend to their needs and to better educate the owners in proper animal care. We also feel education in animal care should start early so at every available invitation, we target the local schools for presentations and demonstrations on how to properly care for the animals.
