I CARE: Looking for volunteer work with flexible weekday scheduling? DeKalb County senior citizens need volunteer drivers to take them to their medical appointments (from residence, to Doctor's office, and back to residence). As an I CARE volunteer, you use your own vehicle and tell our scheduler when, where, and how often you wish to drive. You will work with seniors who are grateful for both the transportation and the companionship. Most of our seniors live in Decatur, Stone Mountain, Dunwoody, Lithonia, East Atlanta, Doraville and surrounding areas.
Volunteers can drive once a month, or once a week, or how ever often the Volunteer desires.
Our drivers often tell us that this is the most rewarding volunteer work they've ever done.

To serve senior citizens of DeKalb County, GA in need of free transportation to medical appointments. I CARE drivers provide respectful, caring companionship, thereby enhancing and promoting the quality of life, independence, and dignity of those served.
Description
I CARE is an interfaith collective effort which coordinates volunteer drivers with care receivers. We serve DeKalb County, GA residents 55 years and older who, for financial and/or medical reasons, have no other means of transportation to medical appointments. Our clients must be ambulatory.
