Share your musical talents with our hospice patients and families on our Acute Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital, in nursing facilities or in the patient/family private residence.
If you can play an instrument or sing, this opportunity is for you. It makes such a difference in our patients and how they are feeling about their day. Make visits 1 - 2 times per month.

Description
Summa Health Hospice is committed to treating the person and not the disease, focusing on quality-of-life issues affecting the patient's entire family. We use the combined knowledge and skills of a team of specially trained professionals that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, spiritual caregivers and VOLUNTEERS. Hospice provides care and support to patients and their families in the comfort of their own home. While traditional medical care is designed to cure illness, the focus of hospice care is more comfort-oriented. Hospice neither hastens nor prolongs dying, viewing it as a natural process -- emphasizing quality of life, rather than length of life.
